Laser & IPL treatments
Laser Hair Removal is a long term epilating type of hair removal. Laser hair removal technology uses an invisible light and a constant source of heat that penetrates the hair follicle, disabling and then destroying it at its root while preserving the surrounding skin to get damaged. The hair goes through three different stages during its life cycle. Laser only destroys hair that is in the growth phase. At that moment 20% of hair is resting or sleeping. Repeated sessions will treat this hair when it re-enters the growth phase. The number of treatments depends on several factors related to your specific kind of hair and skin. Usually eight to ten treatments are required to achieve satisfactory results.
Pulsed light works by emitting a flash of high intensity light which then penetrates the epidermis and is absorbed and assimilated in the bulbous region (root) of the hair. The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin is located, as opposed to the rest of the hair shaft. The light is converted to heat energy. The bulb and most of the hair shaft are instantly vaporized. The intense heat radiated by the hair also destroys the hair-producing papilla or the entire hair follicle. The broadband enables the treatment in hair types which are traditionally hard to treat - such as feathery hair or bright hair. Pulsed light IPL laser hair removal offers very long lasting, progressive results. Fast and effective way to reduce permanently unwanted hair. However, 10% of the population may not respond positively to the treatment. Hormonal changes or pregnancy may cause new hair growth.
